นาเกลือ
          จังหวัดสมุทรสงคราม มีอาณาเขตด้านทิศใต้ติดกับจังหวัดเพชรบุรี และอ่าวไทย ดังนั้นจึงมีอาชีพอีกอาชีพหนึ่งที่เราอาจไม่ได้พบเห็นบ่อยนักในจังหวัดอื่น นั่นก็คืออาชีพทำนาเกลือนั่นเอง เพราะการทำนาเกลือต้องใช้พื้นที่อาณาบริเวณมากเป็นหลายสิบไร่ขึ้นไป และต้องมีพื้นที่อยู่ใกล้ชายฝั่งทะเล ให้สามารถทดน้ำทะเลเข้าฝั่งได้ ดังนั้นการทำนาเกลือจึงพบในบางจังหวัดเท่านั้นที่มีพื้นที่ติดทะเล แต่ที่รู้จักกันดีก็คือสมุทรสงคราม โดยผลผลิตที่ได้เรามักจะเรียกว่า เกลือสมุทร
          วิธีการทำนาเกลือ ต้องมีการทดน้ำทะเลเข้าสู่แปลงนาเกลือที่เตรียมไว้ล่วงหน้า ขังน้ำทะเลไว้และปล่อยให้ตากแดด ส่วนที่เป็นน้ำจะระเหยไปกับแสงแดด ส่วนที่เหลือจะมีความเข้มข้นขึ้นและเมื่อถึงจุดหนึ่ง เกลือในน้ำทะเลที่เหลืออยู่จะตกผลึกเป็นเกลือเม็ดออกมา ชาวนาเกลือจะรวบรวมเกลือที่ได้มารวมกันเป็นกอง ๆ เพื่อเตรียมขนย้ายเข้าสู่วงจรการจำหน่ายต่อไป                 

                                                 

 Salt Fields
          A salt field needs to occupy a large area adjacent to the coast of the sea. Therefore, such fields are found only in some province next to the sea. With its area adjacent to the South of Phetchaburi Province and the Gulf of Thailand, Samut Songkhram offers nice opportunities for their people to earn their living by operating a salt field. The province has become a well known source of salt production.To produce salt, sea water is channeled to a field and retained there. Then, the sea water is left to dry out under the sun. When the salt crystallizes as the water evaporates, salt farmers gather the salt in several piles to be ready for transportation to undergo the next process of production for selling. The salt obtained from such fields is called sea salt.
